Customer Reviews for Stoddard Plumbing

I feel this company is extremely unethical based on my experience I have encountered with them and it is quite upsetting to me what I have and am going through with my home due to their lack of care.
I had a brand new septic system put in at the close of escrow on my home by Stoddard plumbing. Part of the terms to me buying the home was a new system. Within six months of living in my home I smelled rotten egg throughout my house. Stoddard plumbing said they charged 200 to come out to look at my tank. I agreed to this. Mark Stoddard and his son who is an employee of the company that I later found didn't even have workers comp came out to service my new tank. Mark Stoddard said he needed to pump my tank for $745 otherwise all my waste would go inside my home. I agreed to the pumping. I was also told they were snaking the lines. After they pumped the tank I was told the health department would need to come out, an engineer to come out for 5,000 and 3,000 for permits and a new drain field in which they would have to relocate in my backyard " my saving grace point" after they dig up my yard at my expense... but if I can't afford it I can sell my home for 35,000 less just like my neighbor is having to do. Oh and Mark told me if I can't afford it I can " get creative" and just put my laundry hose out the window, shower at the gym and not flush the toilet. Total joke! According to Mark Stoddard two of my neighbors purchased homes with new septic tanks to later have failed drainfields in which one neighbor remodeled his home and is now having to sell his home due to not being able to afford the cost of the failed drainfield. This company is unethical and needs to be reported. They are taking advantage of all my neighbors and unfortunately we are all on septic systems and there are not many companies that service septic tanks. I guess they feel this gives them the right to take advantage of people.
I received a bill from Mark Stoddard for 1,170 after being told that it would be 200 to come out and 745 for the pump. I brought it to Mark's attention and he responded by adding another 20 to the bill. Mark stoddard never provided a contract with a cost of total servicing. It has been two days and the Stoddards have called my phone several times for payment. The check is in the mail but I will be taking measures against this company.
I was told as well as written by Mark stoddard that they snaked the lines but I called out another septic company in which he reached in to the lines and found they had tree roots still in them. I called out another septic company and had the system tested and it was confirmed the leach field has failed. Due to the creek in my backyard there are setbacks and the system has to be engineered into the front yard, concrete dug out, fence removed, water meter moved and so far that cost is adding up to over 120,000 to fix.
Mark Stoddard said the septic tank was in a bad location( he put it there) and that the system broke from using the water but any homeowner would have to use water and aI do not use excessive amounts. Mark Stoddard blamed the rain, blamed my young age for the septic system failing but what's really going on is they shoved in a septic system incorrectly to sell a home quickly and thought that it would go unnoticed! Due to their lack of work ethic I have an inhabitable home that I am having to shower from a bucket and dump out every single bucket full of water because my home has no place for the waste to go. Awful beyond words!!!!
